This camp is aimed at Years 3-6 who want to continue to develop their hockey. Whether you’ve played at school or at club, come along and work on your skills and gameplay.
This camp will be open to GKs and outfield players and will take place at Taverham High School/Norwich City Hockey Club on Tuesday 28th July between 10am and 3pm.
This camp will run alongside a talent camp on the same day and we will have a range of coaches working across both camps. The ratio of players to coaches will be really good to allow maximum benefit for all attendees.
Coaches who will be involved:
Stu Field, with over 25 years of coaching experience, Stu has coached from club to junior international level with Wales, he’s has coached in the Single System, has lead hockey programmes in two independent schools and has coached in the National League. Stu is a Coach Developer with England and GB Hockey and will be Women’s 1st XI coach at Harleston Magpies for the 2026/27 season.
Maddie Anthony – Maddie is currently the Hockey and Cricket professional at The Leys School in Cambridge, prior to this she was Assistant Director of Hockey at Greshams School and before that she was the Hockey Graduate at Felsted School. Maddie has a degree in Sports Coaching and Physical Education and is currently completing a Masters in International Sports Management and Marketing. Maddie is a powerful player, whose passes you would not want to get in the way of! Maddie played for Norwich City Ladies 1st XI.
Georgie Evans – Current Oxford Brookes Uni player, ex Norwich City 1st XI player, has coached all through the junior section at Norwich City HC, was 1st XI captain at Norwich School where she played for many years. Georgie has coached for Empower Hockey previously and has also coached for The Goalie Guide. Georgie’s specialism is attacking in and around the D as a very natural attacker herself. Georgie is a fab goal scorer, especially on her reverse and her athleticism and fearlessness make her very hard to defend against!
Jess Smith – Ladies 1st team player at Harleston Magpies HC (National League) Norfolk Under 11 girls coach, Talent Academy player when younger, Level 2 outdoor umpire and Level 3 Indoor umpire. Jess currently works at Town Close School as a key part of the PE and Games team. Jess has been a talented player for many years and made her National League debut at a young age, also playing for Norfolk and TA as she grew up.
Lucy Tilbrook – Lucy is a determined and clever player who reads the game well. She plays for Norwich City HC 1st XI as well as being the Ladies Club Captain, she is Head of Girls Hockey at Norwich School where she has worked with a range of talented teams. As a coach, Lucy is motivating, inspiring and encouraging. She will push you to develop but support you along the way.
Lauren Mickleburgh – Soon to be Director of Sport at Town Close School, current Head of Hockey at Norwich High School for Girls. Ex National league player for Harleston Magpies 1st XI and mixed team gold medal winner. Lead coach for 1st XI team at Norwich High School this season just gone where they got to the Quarter Finals of the Independent Schools Plate. Level 2 coach and has coached in Australia.
Cost of the camp is £45, there will be access to changing rooms, space for lunch, toilets, water refills etc but players need to bring their snacks, lunch and water bottle as well as the usual (shin pads, gum shield, GK kit if GK, stick etc.) Please bring sun cream and a coat as you never can predict the British weather!
