This camp is aimed at Years 3, 2, 1 and reception, for some fun games to work on simple skills and play some matches.
This camp will be open to outfield players and will take place at Taverham High School/Norwich City Hockey Club on Friday 24th July between 9am and 1pm.
Coaches who will be on this camp:
Maddie Anthony – Maddie is currently the Hockey and Cricket professional at The Leys School in Cambridge, prior to this she was Assistant Director of Hockey at Greshams School and before that she was the Hockey Graduate at Felsted School. Maddie has a degree in Sports Coaching and Physical Education and is currently completing a Masters in International Sports Management and Marketing. Maddie is a powerful player, whose passes you would not want to get in the way of! Maddie played for Norwich City Ladies 1st XI.
Georgie Evans – Current Oxford Brookes Uni player, ex Norwich City 1st XI player, has coached all through the junior section at Norwich City HC, was 1st XI captain at Norwich School where she played for many years. Georgie has coached for Empower Hockey previously and has also coached for The Goalie Guide. Georgie’s specialism is attacking in and around the D as a very natural attacker herself. Georgie is a fab goal scorer, especially on her reverse and her athleticism and fearlessness make her very hard to defend against!
Lucy Walton – Lucy is currently a D1 Field Hockey student-athlete at NorthEastern University in Boston, USA. She graduated from Gresham’s School last year where she was captain of the 1st XI. Outside of school Lucy played her hockey for Harleston Magpies 1st XI in the National League and previously captained their U18 indoor and outdoor squads. Lucy was a member of the England Under 16 squad in 2022/2023 and has also captained her Talent Academy and Performance Centre teams at the summer tournaments. A powerful and fit player, Lucy makes hockey look easy as she drifts past players at speed,
Cost of the camp is £30, there will be access to changing rooms, space for lunch, toilets, water refills etc but players need to bring their snacks, lunch and water bottle as well as the usual (shin pads, gum shield, GK kit if GK, stick etc.) Please bring sun cream and a coat as you never can predict the British weather!
