This camp is aimed at Years 6-10 who are attending the Norfolk Hockey trials and want to prepare for it and get some hockey in so they’re not feeling out of practice.

The camp will cover all the core skills such as passing (pushing, slapping, reverse, hitting, lifting), receiving, moving with the ball, passing on the move, receiving on the move, shooting, tackling, 1v1, 2v1, 3v2 and plenty of gameplay. For the goalkeepers it will cover kicking, hand saves, agility and movement, secondary saves and communicating with your defence.

This camp will be open to GKs and outfield players and will take place at Taverham High School/Norwich City Hockey Club on Tuesday 18th August between 10am and 3pm.

Coaches who will be on this camp:

Maddie Anthony – Maddie is currently the Hockey and Cricket professional at The Leys School in Cambridge, prior to this she was Assistant Director of Hockey at Greshams School and before that she was the Hockey Graduate at Felsted School. Maddie has a degree in Sports Coaching and Physical Education and is currently completing a Masters in International Sports Management and Marketing. Maddie is a powerful player, whose passes you would not want to get in the way of! Maddie played for Norwich City Ladies 1st XI.

Georgie Evans – Current Oxford Brookes Uni player, ex Norwich City 1st XI player, has coached all through the junior section at Norwich City HC, was 1st XI captain at Norwich School where she played for many years. Georgie has coached for Empower Hockey previously and has also coached for The Goalie Guide.  Georgie’s specialism is attacking in and around the D as a very natural attacker herself. Georgie is a fab goal scorer, especially on her reverse and her athleticism and fearlessness make her very hard to defend against!

Jess Smith – Ladies 1st team player at Harleston Magpies HC (National League) Norfolk Under 11 girls coach, Talent Academy player when younger, Level 2 outdoor umpire and Level 3 Indoor umpire. Jess currently works at Town Close School as a key part of the PE and Games team. Jess has been a talented player for many years and made her National League debut at a young age, also playing for Norfolk and TA as she grew up.

Cost of the camp is £45, there will be access to changing rooms, space for lunch, toilets, water refills etc but players need to bring their snacks, lunch and water bottle as well as the usual (shin pads, gum shield, GK kit if GK, stick etc.) Please bring sun cream and a coat as you never can predict the British weather!
